Set-ups and Repairs
In addition to custom acoustics, I also perform setups and repairs,
on both acoustic and electric guitars:
What is include in a setup
Neck relief (truss rod adjustment) for ideal action and playability
Nut height and slot dressing for clean open-string intonation and tuning stability
String height (action) at the 12th fret for comfortable playing and proper string clearance
Intonation adjustment at the bridge/saddles so notes and chords are in tune up the neck
Fret condition check and minor fret dressing/leveling when needed
Pickup height (electric) and electronics check for balanced output and noise-free operation
Bridge/saddle adjustment (acoustic) for optimal string angle and resonance
Tuning, stretch and final playcheck across styles and positions
What I need from you
Type of guitar (acoustic or electric), make/model if possible
Current string gauge and whether you want a change
Any playability issues you notice (buzzing, high action, dead frets, tuning problems)
Preferred action height at 1st and 12th frets (if you have one), or playing style (light fingerstyle, heavy strumming, metal, etc.
Typical turnaround and pricing notes (examples)
Basic setup: truss rod, action, intonation, tuning — typically 1–2 business days
More extensive work (fret dressing, nut replacement, saddle work, electronics) may take longer and cost more
Exact price depends on instrument condition and requested changes; I’ll provide a quote after inspection
Why a professional setup matters
Improves playability, tuning stability, and tone
Prevents long-term wear and damage
Tailored to your playing style for the best feel and response
If you have a problem with a current guitar, contact me and we’ll discuss. I’ll review the details and get back to you with the best next steps — repair options, or troubleshooting tips. If the guitar needs to be sent in, I’ll explain packaging, shipping and turnaround time. My aim is to get you playing worry-free again.
